LOS ANGELES (AP) - A Los Angeles jury has deadlocked in the
murder trial of a former security guard accused of shooting a
college student in Palmdale nine years ago.

A Superior Court judge on Tuesday declared a mistrial after
jurors announced they were split 11-1 in favor of finding Raymond
Lee Jennings guilty.

It is the second time a jury failed to reach a decision in the
case. Last year, a different panel deadlocked 9-3 in favor of
conviction.

Jennings was charged with the February 2000 killing of
18-year-old Michelle O'Keefe, an Antelope Valley College student
whose body was found in her car in a parking lot where Jennings
worked as a security guard.

Prosecutors say they have not decided whether to seek a third
trial.
