WESTMINSTER, Calif. (AP) - The reputed leader of an Orange County street gang has been sentenced to nearly 10 years in prison on gang and drug charges.
Pablo Perfecto got nine years and eight months when he was sentenced Friday but his lawyer says he could be freed in as few as
three years. The 38-year-old Yorba Linda man apologized to his family during the hearing.
Authorities contend Perfecto headed a street gang in Placentia and dealt in cocaine. He pleaded guilty last year to nine counts of gang- and drug-related crimes.
He was among 16 people arrested in 2007 during a federal DEA sweep that resulted in 59 arrests throughout Southern California and the seizure of more than $30 million in drugs.
