Stockton Woman Struck By Bullet While Sleeping

STOCKTON, Calif. (AP) - A 40-year-old woman was struck in the thigh by a bullet as she slept on a sofa in her home.

Stockton police Lt. Mike Evans says the woman was awakened by numerous gunshots around 2:20 a.m. Friday as the home was hit by
about 30 rounds of ammunition. One of the bullets hit the woman in the thigh.

Police say she and several family members who were in the home at the time could not describe the shooter or shooters, but a witness reported seeing three people running from the home around the same time.
