CALIFORNIA - Unemployment in the Golden State has spiked to its highest level in 15 years. The state's unemployment rate rose to 9.3 last month. That's almost one-percentage point higher than it was in November.
1.7 million Californians are looking for work.
Nevada's new unemployment numbers are due Monday, and we've been told by state employment officials that "it's not good news." At last report, the unemployment rate here stood at a 24-year high of 8%.
