Six Men Arrested For Beating High School Athlete

VALLEJO, Calif. (AP) - Police say six men are under arrest on suspicion of attempted murder for the beating of a 17-year-old high
school basketball player.

Vallejo police say an argument outside the basketball gym at Jesse Bethel High School on Thursday escalated after one suspect punched a woman in the face.

The basketball player, whose name wasn't released because of his age, was among a group who came to the aid of the victim. The entire brawl was caught by school surveillance cameras, and the footage was used by police.

Police say the men are gang members, and that the player was stomped on after losing consciousness and choked. The player is in
serious condition at the hospital.

Arrested were twins Abraham and Alexander Tili, 26; twins Ray and Ron Tili, 18; Kevin Young, 18; and a 16-year-old juvenile for attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon and being gang members involved in a gang-related crime.
