LOS ANGELES (AP) - Twenty-four schoolchildren have been slightly
injured after two buses collided on a freeway in West Los Angeles.
The California Highway Patrol says the school buses collided at 9:40 a.m. Saturday on the northbound 405 Freeway. The buses were moved off the freeway into a parking lot and the Los Angeles Fire Department sent 11 ambulances to the scene.
Fire spokesman Ron Myers says 24 children on the buses suffered what he calls "extremely minor injuries" - mainly complaints of pain. They were all going to be examined at hospitals as a precaution.
The cause of the accident remained under investigation.
