LOS ANGELES (AP) - Los Angeles International Airport authorities
have detained a motorist who was found to have 30 handguns, seven
rifles and ammunition in his pickup as he headed into the airport.
Airport spokeswoman Nancy Castles says the man was stopped at
midmorning Friday for a routine vehicle inspection on one of the
main roads leading into the passenger terminals area.
Airport Police official Jim Holcomb tells KCAL-TV there's no
indication the man was out to do any harm and that he apparently
was going to pick someone up. But Holcomb says that remains under
investigation by police, the FBI and the ATF.
