LOS ANGELES (AP) - Two arrests have been made in the shooting
death of a Los Angeles County Sheriff's Deputy.
Juan Abel Escalante, 27, was gunned down outside his parent's house on August 2.
Escalante had been working as a deputy for more than two years, and had worked in Los Angeles County's jail system, which brought him into contact with dangerous gang members.
The Los Angeles Police Department and the Sheriff's department have conducted a joint investigation into the death, and are expected to announce details of the arrest at an afternoon news conference Saturday.
A military veteran, Escalante had three children.
