SAN DIEGO (AP) - The body of a missing diver has been found after a daylong search off La Jolla Shores.
San Diego Lifeguard Lt. John Greenhalgh says searchers found the
unidentified man's body Saturday using a remote-controlled underwater vehicle.
Greenhalgh says the man and his 19-year-old son were diving at
about 150 feet below the surface when he ran out of air. The two
tried to share the son's air supply as they tried to ascend, but he ran out of air at a depth of 40 feet and the two became separated.
Greenhalgh says lifeguards spotted the young man when he surfaced and waved his arms in distress. The diver was taken to a hospital as a precaution because of his rapid ascent.
