3 People Hurt in Sacramento Light-Rail Collision

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say three people were hospitalized after a collision involving a light-rail train and a truck hauling almonds in Sacramento Saturday evening.

KCRA-TV reports two passengers and the train's operator were taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries after the collision at the intersection of 12th and North B Streets around 6 p.m.

The driver of the truck told the station that he didn't see the northbound train approaching when he started making a left turn.

It's not known how fast the light-rail train was going but transit officials say trains typically travel through the area where the accident took place at around 25 miles per hour.
