LOS ANGELES (AP) - Two men and a woman have been arrested in the killing of a man whose body was found in the back of a U-Haul truck in Santa Barbara County.
Santa Maria police Sgt. Mark Norling says 37-year-old Ramon Maldonado, 28-year-old Carmen Cardenas and 54-year-old Pedro Torres of Santa Maria were arrested Tuesday on suspicion of conspiracy and murder.
Norling says officers responded Monday afternoon to a home where evidence including blood indicated an assault had occurred.
On Tuesday, Santa Barbara Sheriff's deputies found a U-Haul truck officers had been searching for. Norling says in the back was a man's dead body. Officers ruled the death a homicide.
Norling says the man lives in Santa Maria but would not release more details because of the ongoing investigation.
