SAN DIEGO (AP) - A fire in San Diego County wilderness has scorched 150 acres of dry brush but is not burning near structures.

State fire Capt. Mike Mohler says the blaze southeast of Julian was sparked around midday Sunday in the Banner Grade area.

There is no estimate on containment.

City News Service says firefighters initially requested state Route 78 be closed near Scissors Crossing. But California Highway Patrol officers on that 10-mile stretch said conditions were rapidly changing, and the road is open but being monitored.

A second wildfire burning about 30 miles east of Julian is 90 percent contained.

That fire, which started Thursday, has consumed over four square miles of desert scrub.
