HAYWARD, Calif. (AP) - Police investigating the death of a man shot inside a Hayward video game store say the victim had tried to run away with jewelry belonging to the suspect.
Investigators say Deandre Tyre Demisse, 21, of San Francisco, was killed Thursday soon after a fight with three men and a teenage girl in a nearby parking lot. Witnesses say Demise argued with the suspects, then ran with jewelry belonging to one of them. They chased Demisse into the store, and shot him in the head. He died an hour later at a Castro Valley hospital.
Dijon Newton, of Antioch, and Rashed Johnson, of Pleasant Hill, both 19, and Dalaw Ambers, 20, of Oakland, were arrested and booked on suspicion of murder.
They're being held without bail pending court appearances Monday.
