SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - Bay Area Rapid Transit officials were forced to shut down the Civic Center BART station after a train struck and killed a man Saturday.
BART spokesman Linton Johnson says witnesses saw a young man in
his early 20s purposely get onto the trackway as a Daly City-bound
approached around noon.
The Civic Center BART station was closed to riders for more than two hours as authorities worked to remove the body from beneath the train.
The station closure caused delays throughout the BART system. The Civic Center station was expected to reopen by mid-afternoon.
