SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say overnight lightning
strikes have sparked several small brush fires in Santa Barbara
County backcountry, but no residents or buildings are threatened.
A spokesman for the Santa Barbara County Fire Department says
the biggest fire is a 15-acre blaze that broke out early Friday in
Tepusquet Canyon. Captain Eli Iskow says roads in the area have
been closed as fire equipment is moved on site.
Iskow says the fires are currently small but have potential to become serious.
