Police Looking For Car That Hit, Killed Two Women

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) - Santa Clara police asked for the public's help Monday in finding the owner of a car that hit and killed two elderly women over the weekend.

A police spokesman say the two women were run down by a four-door sedan as they crossed Stevens Creek Boulevard on Saturday
night.

A witness to the incident was able to provide police with a description of the driver, car and license plate.

Police are looking for a 1994 Infinity sedan, metallic in color, with California license plate 3JXW237. The vehicle is registered to C. Wayne Cox, according to the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Authorities would not confirm if Cox was a suspect in the case. No one had been arrested.

The coroner's office identified the women killed as Oralia Puga Ramirez, 73, and Enedina Oliva, 70, two friends who met at a Spanish-speaking prayer group at St. Clare's Catholic Church.
