SoCal Man Sentenced In Ill Woman's Killing

SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) - A Fullerton man has been sentenced to
25 years to life for killing his terminally ill girlfriend.

Christopher Nell was sentenced Friday in Orange County after being convicted of first-degree murder.

Authorities say the 50-year-old beat and strangled 47-year-old Karen Taylor in 2005 at her Tustin apartment because she refused to give him heroin and because he thought she was cheating on him.

Nell then called 911 and claimed he found her dead in the bathtub.

Taylor had AIDS, hepatitis and other diseases.

Authorities say Nell had methamphetamine in his system at the time of the murder.
