Vegas Police Probe 7-Eleven Robbery, Hazmat Cases

LAS VEGAS (AP) - Police are looking for an assailant who hopped a counter and stabbed a clerk during a pre-dawn robbery of a 7-Eleven store east of downtown Las Vegas.

Meanwhile, a hazardous materials team determined a white powder found at a 7-Eleven store several blocks away came from a fire extinguisher that may have malfunctioned.

Police don't think there's a link between the hazmat call at 3:22 a.m. at a store at Lamb Boulevard and Stewart Avenue, and the robbery 35 minutes later at the store on Sahara Avenue near Lamb.

The injuries to the clerk were not described as life-threatening.
