LOS ANGELES (AP) - Los Angeles fire officials say two firefighters were burned and had to be hospitalized after fighting flames at a burning house in the Sherman Oaks area.
The Los Angeles Times reportsthe fire was reported before dawn on Saturday at an unoccupied house along a winding hilly road.
Fire officials say the three-story house has two stories below ground level and all the floors became unstable.
Both firefighters were burned and transported to local hospitals.
One of the injured, a fire captain, is in serious but stable condition. The other firefighter is in fair but stable condition.
More than 100 firefighters extinguished the fire in about an hour.
All three floors of the house were damaged. The damage estimated for the house and other property is about $260,000.
