HANFORD, Calif. (AP) - The man once named the prime suspect in
the murder of his ex-wife nearly two years ago is behind bars.
Police arrested 49-year-old Dave Hawk on Thursday and booked him
into the Kings County jail on one count of first-degree murder in the death of Debbie Hawk.
The 46-year-old woman disappeared in June of 2006. Her body has
never been found.
Prosecutors say Dave Hawk is accused of committing the murder for financial gain. They did not elaborate during a news conference
announcing the arrest Friday.
Dave Hawk's attorney says he maintains his innocence.
Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has offered a reward of $80,000 for
information in the unsolved case.
