Police say four people have died in a six-vehicle collision in the Hyde Park neighborhood of South Los Angeles.
Los Angeles Police spokeswoman Karen Smith says the crash happened just before 6 p.m. Monday when a van ran a red light and
hit another van.
Smith says the first van hit the second van from the side and "made it go airborne," causing a chain reaction that set three vehicles ablaze.
She says a 12-year-old boy was ejected from a vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. Two other victims were found burned
beyond recognition inside a vehicle.
Smith says 21 people were taken to the hospital, where eight are
in critical condition. A fourth victim died at the hospital.
