OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) - The three crewmen aboard a tugboat that
struck a Martinez wharf last week have been fired for drinking alcohol the night of the incident.
A spokesman for AmNav Marine Services says the company fired the
three unidentified crew members after a preliminary investigation
showed they'd each had alcohol at a dinner the night of the incident last week. Two of the three tested positive for alcohol when the Coast Guard reached the scene; the third, the ship's master, refused to be tested.
The tugboat struck a refinery wharf, spilling trace amounts of gasoline into the bay.
