LOS ANGELES (AP) - A motorist is seriously injured, and a bus driver has a broken leg after their vehicles collided on the Ventura Freeway this morning.
Authorities say accident occurred shortly before 7 a.m. when a Ford Explorer swerved in front of an MTA bus on the eastbound 134
Freeway by Eagle Rock.
MTA spokesman Luiz Inzunza says the bus struck the SUV and
pushed it along a rail. Then the Explorer rolled down an off-ramp and the driver was thrown from the SUV. Paramedics say the driver was taken to a hospital with head trauma.
The force of the impact left the bus driver trapped in her seat, and rescuers had to use power equipment to pull her out. There were
no passengers on the bus.
