PINOLE, Calif. (AP) - The surviving victim of a fatal shooting on Interstate 80 remained in critical condition Friday morning.
The man, whose identity was not released, was a passenger in a
car that came under fire around 9:15 p.m. Thursday. Another
passenger, identified as 25-year-old Rhonda White, was killed, and
the man was airlifted to John Muir Medical Center with a bullet wound to the abdomen.
The driver and other passengers in the car were not injured.
It's the second shooting this week on the stretch of highway.
On Tuesday morning, a man was wounded when a black SUV pulled up
alongside his car and fired multiple rounds at his Nissan. Police said the man, who remains in serious condition, has been the target of a similar attack in the past.
Investigators were looking into a possible connection in the shootings.
