FRESNO, Calif. (AP) - Police in Fresno are searching for a 17-year-old burglary suspect who escaped from custody while handcuffed and wearing blue hospital clothes.
The Fresno Bee says the teen was chased down and arrested Wednesday night after being spotted climbing out of the window of a home.
After the suspect was put in a police cruiser, he told officers he felt ill and began vomiting. The teen was treated at a hospital and released into police custody.
Lt. Joe Gomez says when an officer tried to put the boy in a patrol car, he broke away and ran. Gomez says the suspect went through an alley to a thoroughfare, where he was picked up by a green Lexus, which sped north.
The boy is sought on charges of burglary, resisting arrest and felony probation violation.
