HERMOSA BEACH, Calif. (AP) - A man who allegedly broke into his
ex-girlfriend's apartment and stabbed her current boyfriend has
surrendered after a standoff with police.
Police in Hermosa Beach say the man climbed a fire escape to get
into the second-floor apartment around 11:30 last night. He allegedly stabbed the new boyfriend several times in the chest and neck and then trashed the apartment.
The wounded man and girlfriend fled. Police evacuated 30 to 40 people from the area while negotiators talked the man into surrendering.
Thirty-year-old Aaden Brindamour of Hermosa Beach was booked for
investigation of attempted murder and burglary. Two kitchen knives
The injured man is hospitalized in serious but stable condition.
Police said Brindamour and his girlfriend broke up about a week ago and she had a restraining order against him - but it was never served.
