U.S. Deports A Brother Behind Mexican Drug Cartel To Mexico

The eldest of seven brothers behind Mexico's notorious Arellano Felix drug cartel has been deported to Mexico from the United States.

In October, Francisco Rafael Arellano Felix was sentenced in San Diego to six years in U.S. prison on cocaine charges from a 1980 drug bust.

Justice Department spokeswoman Laura Sweeney says he was deported to Mexico on Tuesday. He got credit for time served in Mexican prison while he awaited extradition.

The Mexican citizen was extradited in 2006 after serving a decade-long sentence in Mexico on unrelated weapons charges.
