A 50-year-old man is dead after a BART train struck him on the tracks at the El Cerrito station east of San Francisco.
A Bay Area Rapid Transit spokesman said investigators were still
trying to determine whether the man jumped or fell onto the tracks
A northbound train struck the man, whose name was not released, at around 9:42 a.m., forcing the station to shut down while authorities removed his body.
The incident caused delays of about 15 minutes as trains running in both directions shared the southbound track.
