Northbound lanes of Highway 101 could remain closed for tomorrow morning's commute as crews scramble to clean up a gasoline spill.
A gas tanker partially overturned this afternoon, spilling 1,600 gallons onto the road and closing down the entire highway near Redwood City.
Southbound lanes finally reopened around 10:30 p.m.
But the northbound lanes are expected to remain closed overnight while crews repave the road because of asphalt deterioration from the spill.
Fuel had seeped into drain pipes under the highway and officials worried about the possibility of a fire or explosion.
