Man Charged With Two Killings 11 Years Apart

A man has been charged with the stabbing death of his boss last month and the beating death of another man 11 years ago.

Jeffrey Keith Means of Signal Hill is scheduled to be arraigned on Feb. 5 on the two murder counts filed by prosecutors this week.

He is charged with killing 67-year-old catering company owner Ronald Henry on Dec. 19 in the victim's Long Beach apartment. Means worked as a cook for Henry.

Detectives then discovered the 42-year-old Means had been arrested but never prosecuted in the bludgeoning death of Hal Shaw in 1996.

Means repaired cars with the 48-year-old Shaw, who was killed in
Whittier.

Investigators now believe they have enough evidence to prosecute
Means in the Shaw killing.
