Two teenage girls were arrested for investigation of participating in the videotaped beating of a girl that was posted on the social-networking Web site MySpace, police said.
The 14-year-old girls were taken into custody Tuesday for investigation of battery and conspiracy to commit battery, police Sgt. Evan Sailor said.
Their names were not released because they are minors, he said.
The video was posted last week on a MySpace page showing several
girls beating the 13-year-old victim at a park.
"It shows them punching and kicking her," Sailor said.
She received scrapes, bruises and a cut lip, he said.
Someone who saw the video alerted police, Sailor said.
The older girls knew the victim but Sailor said he didn't know the motive for the attack.
The video has been removed from the Internet.
