Storm Brings Power Woes Throughout State

Some 10,300 Los Angeles Department of Water and Power customers are without electricity due to storm-related outages.

DWP spokeswoman Kim Hughes says problems behind the outages
early Saturday include transformer fires and wires knocked down
late Friday and early Saturday by falling trees and high winds.

The outages are spread throughout DWP's service area.

Meanwhile, some 600,000 Pacific Gas and Electric Company customers in Northern and Central California remain without power, down from 1.5 million without electricity Friday afternoon.
