Oakland police are going door-to-door as they search for two suspects after an officer-involved shooting around 3:30 Friday morning left another suspect dead.
Police say officers checking on a report of a suspicious car near the intersection of Ritchie Street and Bancroft Avenue opened fire when one of four men inside the car pulled out a gun.
The officers opened fire, hitting one of the men.
The car drove off, hitting a pole less than a mile later.
The men in the car fled on foot, with officers finding a wounded man about 45 minutes later.
Police say he died after being taken to a hospital.
A second suspect was taken into custody and hospitalized after
being bitten by a police dog.
