A California woman who traveled to Italy hoping to regain custody of her two children is facing opposition from local residents.
Karyn Krause is in Sicily, where her estranged husband took their young sons in May to visit family.
The three had been due to return in July, but instead Krause says she received an e-mail from her estranged husband saying he was not coming back.
Krause says an international child abduction court in the Hague ruled in November that five-year-old Emanuele and three-year-old Nicolas must be returned to California.
A hand-over was supposed to take place on Tuesday, but Krause says that has been blocked by a crowd of family, friends and neighbors surrounding the house.
