Southern California skiers and snowboarders got a first proper taste of winter over the weekend, after a storm dumped as much as a foot of powder on Big Bear ski resorts.
Many winter sports fans had problems getting into the mountains, as accidents snarled California 38 leading up to the slopes.
The roads were slippery and only those with four-wheel drive or snow
chains were allowed.
Still, for many, the epic skiing outweighed any problems.
