A Concord man is behind bars for allegedly setting fire to his family's home while his wife and their 9-year-old son were still inside.
Police say 45-year-old Richard Barnett doused gasoline on clothing and bedding in the master bedroom Saturday and ignited the blaze as his wife and son fled in horror.
Investigators say Barnett and his wife were going through a divorce and he did not want her to get the three-bedroom, ranch-style home.
They say the home sustained major smoke and fire damage.
Barnett's wife and son were treated at a nearby hospital and released.
Barnett was arrested and jailed on suspicion of attempted murder and arson.
