A 27-year-old man turned himself in to Los Angeles police early Friday for allegedly shooting his brother-in-law to death after a Thanksgiving celebration.
Los Angeles police Detective Scott Smith says 37-year-old Mario Gutierrez died after being shot in the chest Thursday night during a dispute with his relative as he was leaving the holiday gathering in El Sereno.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have not released the gunman's identity, but say he turned himself in at 2 a.m.
The case is under investigation.
Detectives did not release the nature of the dispute between the men.
