Sen. Barack Obama is making a campaign stop in Los Angeles to hold a town hall meeting this afternoon at Garfield High School - the school famous for the 1988 movie "Stand and Deliver."
Access to the event in the gritty, blue-collar section of East Los Angeles, however, is restricted to those invited to attend.
"Stand and Deliver" chronicled math teacher Jamie Escalante's real-life success in teaching college-prep calculus to the school's diverse student body.
Earlier on Saturday, the Democratic presidential hopeful stopped by a fundraising event at Universal Studios chief Ron Meyer's Malibu mansion.
Among the sponsors of the tony event were actresses Alfre Woodard and Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
