The state Supreme Court has blocked the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation from revoking the parole of four sex offenders who live near schools and parks.
The court says it will consider whether Jessica's Law, approved by voters last November, violates the parolees' constitutional rights.
The department had planned to start sending some sex offenders back to prison tomorrow.
But attorneys for the parolees say the injunction should apply to nearly 1,800 others who are also living within 2,000 feet of a school or park.
