About seven thousand homes and businesses are without power in the East Bay this morning.
A spokesperson for Pacific Gas and Electric says the power was knocked out to as many as ten thousand people in parts of Richmond,
Oakland and San Pablo when a storm moved through the area overnight.
The utility expects to have the power restored by 10:30 this morning.
The lights were also knocked out in the South Bay, where about 800 homes and business have no power.
Those customers are expected to get their power back about 11:00 this morning.
In the North Bay, about 1,700 people lost power overnight.
PG&E says the electricity has been restored to all but 39 customers.
