An anonymous tip has led to the arrest of a suspect in the murder of a UC Berkeley honors student.
Sacramento police have arrested 24-year-old Andre Pulido of Elk Grove in connection with the murder last month of Rodrigo Rodriguez Junior.
The 21-year-old Rodriquez was gunned down outside a Sacramento
barbershop where he worked on weekends.
Police think Rodriquez was killed in a case of mistaken identity after Pulido had earlier been a victim of a violent crime.
Investigators believe that Pulido shot Rodriquez mistakenly thinking he was the man who had attacked him earlier in the month.
Rodriguez was an honors student at Sacramento High.
He was beginning his senior year at the University of California,
Berkeley, where his education was to be paid for by the prestigious
Frank H. Buck Scholarship.
