Los Angeles school officials are promising the problems with its payroll system will be fixed by the end of the month.
Mistakes have plagued the $95 million computerized payroll system for nearly a year.
About 5,000 employees were expected to receive inaccurate paychecks Friday.
While about 300 employees have been underpaid, most will be overpaid.
Employees are urged not to spend the extra money as the district figures out how much must be paid back.
