A man whose dogs attacked a 7-year-old boy and his father in Petaluma was sentenced today to nine months in jail and three years of probation.
Kieran Burns pleaded guilty last month to two felony counts in connection with the April 29 attack.
Authorities say Burns' two Rottweilers ran at Roberto Kampfner and his son, Roberto Jr., as they were walking down the street.
Kampfner lifted up his son to protect him, but the dogs managed to tear at the boy's legs.
The father was also bit numerous times.
Burns will not be able to own a dog while on probation.
