International travelers who arrive at San Francisco International Airport without a valid visa are now able to wait in a comfortable lounge for a return flight instead of in jail.
Airport officials say about 520 people are found to not have proper documentation after arriving in the airport each year.
About 200 are immediately put on return flights.
But until August, when the lounge opened, the others were held in jail until a flight could be arranged.
