SPARKS, NV - Scolari’s Food & Drug Company announced Friday the closure of its store at 1300 Disc Drive in Sparks. The closing will be effective July 18, 2014.
After 18 years of operation in the location, the decision to close was based on a number of business factors, according to a news release. A spokesman says if positions are available, store associates will be offered jobs at other Scolari’s locations.
The closure will affect 50 employees from the store.
“While it’s never easy to make these types of changes, this closure will benefit the company as a whole,” explained co-owner Joey Scolari. “It’s our intention to continue to streamline operations in order to keep the company a viable part of the community.”
Scolari’s Food & Drug Company is headquartered in Reno and will continue to operate 10 stores, including one Sak ‘n Save, all in northern Nevada.
