VIRGINIA CITY, Nev. (AP) - Executives for the Nevada-based Comstock Mining Inc. have been invited to ring the opening bell Tuesday at the New York Stock Exchange in celebration of their company's first-year anniversary.
Comstock Mining Chairman John Winfield and President and CEO Corrado De Gasperis are scheduled to open the session Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. EDT, 6:30 a.m. PDT.
The company's gold and silver mine, the Lucerne Pit, is located near Virginia City at Gold Hill in Storey County about 30 miles southeast of Reno.
De Gasperis says they are proud of their corporate team, the state of Nevada and local county leaders for helping make their first year of operation such a success.
