WASHINGTON (AP) - The unemployment rate fell for the fifth straight month after a surge of January hiring, a promising shift in the nation's outlook for job growth.

The Labor Department says employers added 243,000 jobs in January, the most in nine months. The unemployment rate dropped to
8.3 percent from 8.5 percent in December. That's the lowest in nearly three years.

Employers have added an average of 201,000 jobs per month in the
past three months. That's 50,000 more jobs per month than the economy averaged in each month last year.

The January jobs report was filled with other encouraging data and revisions. Hiring was widespread across many high-paying industries. Pay increased. And the economy added 200,000 more jobs in 2011 than first thought.

Every morning I hear that the employment rate is dropping,I don't know where your info is coming from but the truth is that most people that were on unemployment have reached they'er limit and can not get any extentions. This sure doesn't mean they have found jobs.Maybe you should check this out for yourself or talk to the unemployed huh?

Take responsibly? Whose holding those that are stealing the wealth of this nation made on the backs of underpaid workers? We are not talking about being rich... we are talking about living less than paycheck to paycheck. My employer is paying the same basic wage as in 1994. I worked for one of the largest companies ever in existence for 15 years making just shy of 50k in 2001. I was single then and now I am married with 2 kids making less money then I was in 1983 when I was one year out of high school... no raises into year 4, except for the directors... REALLY!!! My wife lost her job 2 years ago and cannot find work so she is going back to school... running up student loans. pay day loans, direct deposit advance. Wake up, the honest working man no longer has a chance and gets exploited to maximum profit. The greedy have raped our once great nation of its wealth and left us behind to fight over the crumbs. I do not want to be rich... I have seen what it does to people. I just want to be able to have security for my family, but I will suffer the same fate as my father who work hard all his life to make someone else rich. He had to short sell his home and now after a life time of work has nothing left. He didn't make bad choices, he took responsibility and what good did do? The middle class has become an endangered species and that needs to end.

Stop your complaining about the 1%. As a 99%er, I would love to be rich but I'm not. It's no one's fault but mine. I don't blame others for my decisions, though I know in today's America that is not a popular trait. Take responsiblity for your decisions, education, spending and preparedness for success. It's up to you...only you!
