NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (AP) - North Las Vegas officials are
moving into new offices after shuttering their former city hall
after 45 years of use.

The Las Vegas Sun reports the new city offices will open Monday after employees spent the last few days moving.

City Manager Tim Hacker says the new city hall will better serve people because departments will be more centrally located.

Hacker says while some people criticized the city for spending $127 million on the building, it will give employees and residents a morale boost.

Hacker says the new building has council chambers that can seat 318 people, space for retail shops and a civic plaza that includes a splash pool.

A formal grand opening is scheduled for Dec. 1 during the lighting of the city Christmas tree.
