Armon Johnson to Host Kids' Basketball Camp in Reno

RENO - Former Wolf Pack point guard Armon Johnson is going to host a kids basketball camp in Reno next week.

The camp runs August 8-10 at the Boys & Girls Club of the Truckee Meadows on East 9th street. It costs $100 per person, but scholarships are available for those in need and who qualify.

Johnson is a Hug high school graduate who played for three seasons at Nevada, averaging 14.3 points, 4.4 assists and 3.3 rebounds per game.

Johnson played in one game with the Portland Trail Blazers this season before being released. He was then signed to a pair of 10-day contracts by the Nets, averaging 5.6 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists in eight games with New Jersey.

He was a second-round pick by Portland back in the 2010 NBA draft.
