RENO, Nev.—The Reno Aces earned an 8-3 victory over the Tacoma Rainiers Thursday night at Aces Ballpark, matching a club record for wins in a single month.

Reno scored in each of the game’s first three innings to hop out to an early 4-0 advantage. With the lead later trimmed to one, Reno pushed across four runs in the seventh inning to put the game out of reach.

With the victory, the first-place Aces seal a series victory and their 13th-straight win over the Rainiers. Reno finishes the month of May with a 20-10 record, tying a franchise mark for wins in a month.

Patrick Corbin (1-1) earned the victory in his Aces Ballpark debut, scattering three runs on seven hits over six innings of work. The triumvirate of Mike DeMark, Jensen Lewis and Bryan Woodall held the Rainiers scoreless over the game’s final three frames out of the Reno bullpen.

The loss fell to Tacoma starter Jeff Marquez (4-5), who surrendered four runs on seven hits over six innings.

At the dish for Reno, Jake Elmore finished his day 1-for-5, bringing his batting average to an even .400. Elmore becomes just the fifth Pacific Coast League batter since 2005 to enter the month of June with a .400 batting average. Four Aces registered a multi-hit effort, and the club recorded five doubles. Reno now has doubled in a franchise record 37-straight games.

The Aces go for the series sweep Friday night at Aces Ballpark. RHP Barry Enright (4-3, 4.66 ERA) takes the ball for Reno, while RHP Forrest Snow (1-4, 7.79 ERA) counters for the Rainiers. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. PT. It’ll be another Saint Mary’s Fireworks Friday presented by KRNV News 4 and Military Appreciation night presented by U.S. Bank.

Tickets are on-sale now at RenoAces.com, by calling (775) 334-7000 or by visiting the Aces Ballpark Ticket Office.
